Julie loves book making and has exhibited her hand-made books at the Castlemaine Regional State Festival.

She also does book making on a commission basis, creating individualised gifts of beauty and meaning.

Concertina
Book Making Workshop

In this three -hour workshop, Julie guides each participant through the easy, step-by-step process involved in the construction of a concertina book with a hard cover.

Simple yet elegant, a six-fold concertina book (12 cm x 18 cm) is the perfect place to store special words and images.

All materials and equipment are provided. Participants get to choose from a range of beautiful Japanese and hand-made papers to decorate the covers and folds of the book they will each take home.

The techniques used in this workshop will assist those who have an interest in making other types of hand-made books.

An instruction and resource sheet is provided to help participants continue with book making projects.

Maximum of five participants per class.

Julie runs these workshops on request for community groups and festivals,
writers and secondary students in Melbourne and regional Victoria.
