Julie Gittus lives in Maldon, Central Victoria. Her young adult fiction novel, Saltwater Moons, was published in August 2008.

Julie is also a short story writer. Her stories have been broadcast on ABC radio and included in a range of Australian anthologies including the Best of the Best anthology,edited by Barry Oakley and published by Five Mile Press. She recently received an Australia Council grant to work on her second novel.

Sometimes Julie transforms her stories into hand-made books that she exhibits at regional state festivals. Julie also runs writing and bookmaking workshops. She is a member of the Australian Society of Authors and the Varuna Alumni association.

RECENT STUFF

Selected to attend the Varuna / Scribe Short Story Masterclass in December 2010 - a six day residential program to be led by Cate Kennedy and Professor Robin Hemley.

Short story, The Place Between has been selected for inclusion in the Scribe anthology, New Australian Stories 2, edited by Aviva Tuffiield. To be released in November, 2010
